So Wednesday, I spent the day at the zoo with the boys I nanny for. After nap we were all sitting on the floor looking at pictures from our outing on Matt's computer. I was having they boys name the animals as we went through, which can be kind of difficult for a 4 & 2 year old when the pictures include things like wart hogs, meerkats, etc. One other thing that can be confusing is the names of all the animals in the cat family. So they are doing pretty well and we come across the picture of all the lions lying under the trees and I ask the 4 year old what it was. He looks and yells "Leprechauns!!" I think he meant Leopard, but one can't be sure I guess. Needless to say, Matt & I burst out laughing. He laughed too although he didn't catch on to why we were laughing. I think we need to work on naming our animals............... Maybe that means another trip to the zoo! :-)

Honeymoon Memories...... the G rated version!
So, a year ago tomorrow Matthew and I left for our amazing honeymoon! The picture above was taken on our first night there. We went to South Beach on Marco Island to watch the sunset! Wasn't it spectacular?????? Not only did God paint the sky amazingly beautiful that night, we also got to see dolphins playing out in the water! It was incredible!
I know I talk about my husband a lot, and if you get sick of hearing about it... read someone else's blog... ;-) I guess the fact is, I am so thankful that I have such an amazing best friend! Thanks again Matthew for being such a wonderful husband! I love you more than you will ever know!

Margarita anyone?????
So last week they boys and I took a day trip to the Arboretum. We went with some of our friends. The oldest boy I take care of and the oldest that Maggie takes care of had a conversation while waiting outside the bathrooms for Maggie... It went something like this...
One of the golf cart things drove by with a man in it and the boys started talking...
J: Is that a Margarita truck?
G: Yeah, I think it is!
J: I'll take a Margarita! On the rocks!
G: Yeah, a Margarita on the rocks, with Salt!!!!
What exactly do you say to that??????

One year of Joy!

So, today is Matt & I's one year anniversary! What a year it has been! So many things have happend! We did most of our celebrating yesterday... We had Church, lunch with my family, parents, grandparents, aunts, cousins, brother, brother in law.... to celebrate mother's day, and the rest of yesterday was spent with my AMAZING HUSBAND! We had tickets to go see Wicked the musical at the Kansas City Music Hall. So we got dressed up and off we went!
We saw Wicked a few years ago, right after we started dating, and it was great! But last night's performance totally blew it out of the water! Oh my goodness it was so much fun! I wish we could go see it again before it leaves town! We couldn't take pictures during the show, but Matt snapped a few of random things with his phone...
After the show, Matt took me to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner! It was so yummy! He is such a thoughtful husband! We had so much fun talking and enjoying our dinner.
As Matt & I were talking about our first year being married, we decided it seems like there is no way a year could have already past, but at the same time, it feels like we have been married forever. It is such a strange feeling! I am so thankful for every moment we have shared together!
Being married is so much fun! I love it! Everybody talks about how hard it is adjusting to living with your spouse, but I don't really think it was that hard! I love our life together! I LOVE falling asleep in his arms every night and waking up next to him in the morning! I love the little things he does like warming up towels for me in the dryer, getting me a drink EVERY night before bed, and that he loves to pluck my eyebrows for me... He really is amazing! We still haven't had a major fight... and I'm not looking forward to the day that it does happen! We talk about the fact that even if we do get upset about something, after about 5 minutes we are both apologizing because we feel bad! I can't stay mad about something even if I try! I love that we can talk about EVERYTHING! I am so blessed to spend each day with my best friend!
Thank you Jesus for sending me such an amazing husband! He is so much more than I could ever have imagined! What a special gift you have given to me!
