Another Great Day in "The Middle of Nowhere".....

Our morning started with the smell of bacon!
We rolled out of bed... (at 8:55) and made it to breakfast at 9!

Nancy (Our Hostess) made us an incredible breakfast of.....

Eggs, Bacon, Biscuits & Gravy, Coffee Cake (with caramel frosting), fresh fruit drizzled with french vanilla cream, Orange Juice, Coffee... A FEAST! It was delicious!!!!!!After breakfast we took our time getting ready and headed out again to Scott and Ramah's. They made us a wonderful lunch of roast beef and corn. I feel like all we are doing is eating! I'm going to gain 50 pounds! Soon we were off to take some pictures around town....

Oh, This is the life......

So Matt and I have decided that this is the most relaxing 24 hours that we have ever had! Life here is so simple! We pulled into Ethel, MO (population 100) in time to join Matt's Uncle and cousin for church. We then had lunch at the Santa Fe Restaurant (That is only open Friday-Sunday) and then came back to their house for a bit... We checked into the best Bed and Breakfast in the world awhile later... Welcome to "The Recess Inn"! This adorable place was the school that Matt's dad and aunt's and Uncle's went to school in. There were 4 rooms, a Primary room, Secondary room, Music room, and Library. The basement housed the kitchen and lunch room. We are staying in the Music Room. It is beautiful and so cozy!

I love the bathroom with the claw footed tub!

Last night we went on a little trek through the field to take some pictures of the old Glaston Church that used to sit in the cemetary. It was moved years ago by Matt's grandparents because the kids were using it to party in. It must have been a beautiful church in it's day because I think it is still quite lovely. The sunset was also breathtaking! It was an amazing day!

My week....

So this is how my week has been....
Thursday, The little squirt started running a fever and had a cough.

Friday, The big squirt started running a fever. That night he started throwing up (after I had gone home)

Monday morning I woke up and felt like I had been hit by a truck! I had a sore throat, and just felt incredibly awful. I called in sick to work and spent ALL day in bed, most of it sleeping.

Tuesday... still felt bad, but not horrible so I went to work.  Big squirt was still not feeling well we had a very low key day!  Thank God for Maggie, she took little squirt to the pool with her!

Wednesday morning, you guessed it, I woke up with the stomach flu part of the illness. My amazingly wonderful husband spent the day taking care of me! Did I mention that he is fabulous and
I LOVE HIM!?!?!?!

Thursday... feeling better, not a whole lot of a voice, but doing better.  5 minutes after showing up at work I get thrown up on by little squirt!  Apparently he ate a bunch of toothpaste this morning and it made him sick...

Let's hope Friday is a better day!

The Faithfulness of God...

Thanks to all of you that left encouraging comments or emailed me about my "real" post.  It is so awesome to have so many people who love me praying for me!  Not only that, but I could feel those prayers yesterday as I stared working through my tough situation.  I stayed calm and was able to speak my mind and I am feeling so much better about things!  God is ALWAYS so faithful!  One thing that I think is so amazing is how He puts people in our lives to send us emails, call us on the phone, etc just to add that extra little bit of encouragement!  Isn't it awesome that he knows exactly what we need.  I am so thankful for all of you! Thanks for being a blessing to me!

Not only do I have amazing friends and family, but God truly has blessed me with an amazing husband! He has been so supportive this week!  Thank you for being by my side through all of this Matthew! You are one in a million! Thanks for being my shoulder to cry on, for the sweet message you left me on the mirror yesterday, for praying with me and for me, and for the incredibly cheesy but sweet song you bought me!  I don't know what I would do without you! Thank you for following Godly council and for striving to do what is right!

"O Lord God Almighty, who is like you?
You are mighty, O Lord, and your faithfulness surrounds you!"
Psalm 89:8

Being real?

Ok so far in my blogger history I have stuck to pictures, funny stories, etc. But I decided tonight is the night I'm gonna get real....
So the past 2 days have been really hard for me. Not really going to go into too many details, but I've been doing some really hard thinking and praying! I know that our God is so amazingly faithful, yet I totally have a hard time turning things over to Him! Why is it that it comes so easy to call up a friend and complain about life's happenings or a tough situation, yet to sit down and give it to God takes some major effort? Well, tonight I made that effort. Do I have an answer to my problems? Well, the answer is no, I don't. Which would normally have me stressing. But as I sit here in the dark in my nice, semi clean, apartment watching the amazing lighting flashing in the sky outside my window, I know that everything is going to turn out alright. I don't know how, I don't know when, or what will happen, but I know I am not the one in control right now. I'm leaving it at the feet of my Jesus!
I'm praying for wisdom, strength, and courage, and we will see what happens! Thanks for reading this! I appreciate all of my faithful readers... especially you Amanda! I love you girl!
