Mother's Day is Fast Approaching....

"A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie." ~Tenneva Jordan

How true... My mother is one of the most self-less people I know. I remember growing up and my mom never complaining about not having things... Many, many times, my mom went without so that we could have something instead. How many times did I watch my mom put on her make up as a child and wonder why she was using lipstick for blush? It was just what she did if she ran out and money was tight.
Not only did my mom do without material things, there were many nights she went without sleep so we could have clean laundry or because we were sick... Moms are amazing things!! Our God has blessed me with such an amazing mom!
As we near the holiday that celebrates these amazing people in our lives, I decided to share with you something that my mom and I both love!
My friend Amy has an amazing little business called Great Cakes Soapworks that she started back in 2004 and it just keeps growing. She makes soaps, lotion, sugar scrubs, lip butters... just to name a few! My mom loves her products, (Especially her homemade soaps) they make your skin so soft unlike other bar soaps! In honor of Mother's day, Amy has graciously agreed to do a special giveaway. That's right, we are giving away a special half size Almond Milk Soapcake and a matching lotion!

To enter the giveaway, please send me an email at with the subject of giveaway. The deadline for entry will be Monday, May 5th at 11:59 pm. We will draw a winner Tuesday May 6th.

If you are interested in purchasing her products you can do so by visiting her website! Not only is Amy providing a giveaway, if you enter the voucher code "MomsDay" you can have 15% off of your total purchase now through May 11! I haven't tried anything that I haven't loved! So head on over and check it something for you, or for that amazing woman you call your mom! And don't forget to thank your mom for all she does!

Can I just say I love weekends?? Well, I do! I live for time to be at my home, doing laundry, cleaning up, and relaxing. If you would have told me a few years ago that I would look forward to doing laundry and such I would have told you that you were completely CRAZY!!!! But, I do! Weekends are my time to catch up!
I am feeling very blessed tonight as I look back over my weekend. Nothing incredibly special happened, but it was great all the same! Friday night I spent with my friend Jessica. My "new friend" has become so dear to me! I love her spunk and how bold she is in her faith! Saturday was spent with college friends at a baby shower and it was so much fun!
Last night Matt & I babysat a sweet little girl and had so much fun! I am so thankful that God has sent me such an amazing husband! We had so much fun just snuggling and watching tv after our charge went to bed. Matthew is so good to me and I thank God for him everyday!

Today we had a great morning at church, Matt actually had the morning off and got to go with me! It is so amazing to stand by my husband and worship our God together! I love our new pastor and am so thankful to be being "fed" again.
I am so thankful for the many blessings in my life!

OKLAHOMA & Popcorn Madness.....

Tonight was GREAT! My friend Jessica (a fellow Nanny) came over and we had some major fun and we got to relax! After a long week with kids, I think it was just what we needed!
Not only did we relax, she enlightened me on a fabulous trick! Pop a bag of microwave popcorn and when it's done toss in a handful of chocolate chips and shake. The result, a very messy but amazing treat! So while we enjoyed our delicious treat, what else did we do... That's right, we watched one of the greatest movies of all times! Oklahoma! It had been many years since either one of us had enjoyed this great classic. If you haven't seen it in awhile, watch it again, it is so worth it!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend... try out our recipe for popcorn and let me know what you think.... Happy Friday!!!

Life is busy.....

So I let a bunch of people know about my blog this past week and since then I haven't done ANYTHING to update it! Oooops! Life has been busy as always, but we are hanging in there. Only a few more weeks till graduation!  So this week has been full of fun with the boys I'll try and post pictures later tonight... We spent Monday at the Mall, Tuesday we played outside a lot, Wednesday was spent at the Arboretum, Thursday we hit Chuck E Cheese, and today we spent our morning at PUMP IT UP!  I am TIRED!!! The boys are taking a nap right now, and I wish I could join them!
So yesterday after picking the oldest up from pre-school, we were driving home and he said... "Oooooo Cool"
I asked what he was talking about and he said, "Check out that airplane!"
I looked and said, "Ummm, that is a bird, not an airplane..."
He very quickly started to argue that it was indeed an airplane NOT a bird!
He would not give up... he was bound and determined to convince me that he had seen an airplane.  So we turn the corner on to their street and he points again and tells me that it is an airplane. So I look deciding to pretend that sure, it is an airplane and low and behold an airplane comes cruising by.
I told him I was sorry that I was wrong and yes, that was a very cool airplane... His response,
"Pull yourself together Rah-Rah I told you it was an airplane!"
Oh the joys of 4 year olds!

Strictly Germ Proof......

So Friday was the big day.... Matt's recital! I can't tell you how proud I was! He was WONDERFUL! He did such an amazing job! So many people showed up and it was so nice to see some friends and family that we hadn't seen for awhile!
Jennifer, the girl that shared the recital with him did a great job too! I love to listen to her play the piano!!!!!
I'm posting some pictures so even if you didn't get to attend you can see how handsome my amazing husband looked! (I love him!!) I think most everyone loved his last song Strictly Germ Proof. He had a lot of fun with it and made everyone laugh singing about the Antiseptic baby and the prophylactic pup! It was so fun to see him in his "element"!
Now that the recital is over we are gearing up for graduation! You are all invited!! (May 4th) Pray for Matt as he finishes up school! He is so ready to be done!!!!!

Park days....

My new friend Maggie nannies for a family that lives the street over from the boys I keep. We have been spending many afternoons together at the park! We have so much fun together! As usual, here are some more pictures! Do you get sick of looking at all our pictures? Oh well...

It is like a roller coaster!

Come on, come play with me!

What a cute boy!

Running up and down the hill.

Watching the other boys.

Hugs before we go...

Turn into a dog pile...

And wood chips in places you never thought possible!!

Deanna Rose.... Again

So we went to Deanna Rose again today! Twice in one week, I know it's kinda pathetic, but not only do the boys love it, the nannies do too! Today we went with some other friends... Jessica and the two sweet girls she nannies for, and our new friend Marion who is an Au Pair from Germany and the adorable boy she keeps. We had so much fun! We even got to bottle feed some goats!!!! Enjoy some more of our pictures!

Ahhhh! Spring is here!

Ahhh! Spring is here! What a great day April first is for us! The day our beloved Deanna Rose Farmstead opens after being closed since October! Unfortunately, the oldest spent the morning in urgent care with an ear infection on the first so we had to wait a day to enjoy the amazingness of the farm! But what a day we had! We were joined on our outing by another fellow nanny and the two spunky boys she nannies for. Fun was had by all and everyone took great naps that afternoon! Enjoy the pictures!!!!!!!

Look at the water!

All smiles on our first day at Deanna Rose!

The cutest little goats!

We love to feed the goats even when they try to eat us!

The sheep kept trying to eat his jacket!

Check out that turkey!

Timeout! No more going down the slide head first!

He is only 8 days old!

Fishing with Maggie!

Such a sweet face!

Watching the bobber.

Right after he pulled the worm in half! Look at that grin!
